Counterkit's Features

Mixer

Built-in 10 channel mixer includes faders for adjusting volume, a tune knob for adjusting pitch for drum shells across all microphones, a pan knob to adjust the stereo image, and two separate sends for a Room reverb & Plate reverb.

The Multi-Out function allows for all 10 channels to be routed through Kontakt outputs into your DAW with the click of a button.

Slate Trigger .TCI Files

Along with the Kontakt version of Counterkit, drum shell samples are provided in the form of Slate Trigger 2 .TCI files. Reinforce, customize, or entirely replace a live tracked drumkit performance with processed and unprocessed files.

I’ve used almost every popularized drum library over the last 12 years and this one is by far the best out of the box kit I’ve ever used. So much so that I can’t see me returning to any others. Unreal kit, unreal price.

Overall sounds are great, varying pre mixed kits are super helpful for getting a mix up and running quick without much tweaking. My only complaints would be ease of getting the drums bus’d out into my DAW in a simple fashion, this is much more user friendly with other options. CPU can be a bit heavy when operating outside of raw samples but nothing unmanageable.

Great drum library!

My band has recently starting recording demos and we decided to do hybrid recording for the drums (MIDI-recording with Counterkit and drum triggers on bass drum, snare, and the two toms, overhead mics for hihat and cymbals).

+: Great preset sounds and a lot of options to customise the drum sound while still being relatively easy-to-use for beginners like us. Multi-Out option is also a great feature, though we haven't quite figured out how to get it running with Presounus Studio One 6 (but I'm sure we will)

- : What we would wish for in a future update is the option to type the values for the individual parameters instead of just adjusting the knobs with your mouse - it's just very difficult to get the exact setting you're looking for without the possibility to just enter the values with your keyboard.

Overall great drum library, we highly recommend!
